Tears For Change

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. “Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and women”.

The Delhi gang rape – six men assaulted and brutally raped a 23-year-old student in a moving bus. This heinous crime has shaken the conscience of the entire nation and has provoked outrage and anger amongst Indians across the world.

In response to this act of barbarism and inhumaneness against women, Teentaal, Indian community radio and advertising agency Orange Alert are starting an International movement called “TEARS FOR CHANGE ” to show respect and support to the women of the world.

On 8 March 2013, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, everyone, irrespective of their location will be able to participate in this movement and will be able to give their support and commitment to the women victims of sexual assault and violence by using an orange band to blindfold men, and a white band to blindfold women. This will be done at 4pm (local time).

Let’s wipe the tears and show honor to the victims of harassment.

People from around the world will support this cause and will stand for a change within themselves and the society.

Never forget that women are mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.

Our prime responsibility is to respect them.
